Great Britain is the name for England, Wales and Scotland. Britain is the eighth largest island in the world. The British Isles is the name for England, Wales, Scotland, both parts of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
Many people think that "English" is the same as "British". But England is only one of the four nations in the U.K. The Scots, Welsh and Northerm Irish people are british, too. Most British people speak English, but there are people that speak "Gaelic" (Scotland and Northerm Ireland) and "welsh" (Wales).
In Britain it' s very typical and well-known the scostmen and their Scottish national dress. London is the most important city of U.K. and it is the capital city of England.
